About Jim Mortimore

I’m a musician and composer, artist, and career SF and Thriller author of over thirty years, with 15 novels and change published.

In the 1980s and 1990s, I was part of the team behind the Audio Visuals series of Doctor Who audio fan plays, contributing as both a musician and writer, and played keyboards with the Bristol-based bands SLS and Mammal.

Since then, I’ve worked for BBC, Virgin, and been published internationally. I’m passionate about storytelling and Doctor Who lore, and super-chuffed to keep expanding its unique universe.

I’ve mostly written for Doctor Who but also for Farscape and Babylon 5.

For Big Finish Productions, I wrote Doctor Who audio play The Natural History of Fear and The Tomorrow People audio play Plague of Dreams.

I also composed music for Big Finish; for the plays Embrace the Darkness, The Rapture, Project Twilight and He Jests at Scars. These soundtracks are available on my Bandcamp page.
