The Backrooms…
Late to the brainy kids’ ball, as ever, I wonder how much of the Backrooms has been influenced by Doctor Who over the years.
Strange endless spaces… filled with infinite corridors, odd rooms and peculiar things…
We say Who has ripped off stuff before. But I say it’s also influenced things too. Is the TARDIS a liminal spaces environment?
What are your thoughts?
I’d never heard of The Backrooms till now. But what does a five minute consultation with Doctor Wiki tell us? There’s a lobby, loads of utilitarian maintenance passages with pipes on the walls, a power station (ancillary, no doubt), a [when I say run, ]run for your life corridor (a hospital corridor at that) and at least one indoor swimming pool. All that’s really missing is the boot cupboard.
So as for your theory Jim… Well… I do believe I wouldn’t give a Castlemaine 4Z for anything else 😉
